be lovely as a carousel

I’m not inclined to make resolutions for myself at any time of year, but there is something to be said for starting fresh with a new year. I think it’s a swell time to re-commit myself to certain pursuits like exercising more, calling my mother regularly, and eating vegetables.

Chief among these pursuits is the pursuit of loveliness, embodied above by Kay Starr and Audrey Hepburn in one of my favorite movies, Funny Face. Enjoy, and if any of you want someone to dance around in scarves and tap jazz shoes, I am, as ever, available.

  1. A favorite tune from a favorite movie. One of my basenjis is named in honor of Audrey. If I ever add another female, I may name her Kay. I loved the recent bio about Kay.
