Go Go Ginza!

THIS WAY TO CHICKEN TERIYAKI

THIS WAY TO CHICKEN TERIYAKI

I hung out with a new friend, Jessi (who is FABULOUS, by the way), last night. We met for drinks at Marge’s Still (I would move to Old Town just so this could be my local), then walked over to the Midwest Buddhist Temple for the first night of the 56th Annual Ginza Festival.

We ate chicken teriyaki, and split an order of udon. I didn’t have room for corn or a snow cone. We admired gorgeous craftwork and jewelry. We bought beautiful scarves made from old silk kimonos. We oohed over tiny adorable children. We were spellbound by the classical dancers (so graceful) and energized by the taiko group that ended the night.

The Ginza Festival is happening all weekend, opening today and Sunday at 11:30. There will be music and dancing and crafts and OMG CHICKEN TERIYAKI. Some pictures (and a video with some unfortunate audio of me wooh-ing) are below.

I always want the teriyaki chicken AND the sushi.

    • I look forward to that chicken every year. And it is always better than I remember. And I always remember it as being, like, the best teriyaki chicken I have ever tasted. SO GOOD.
